What an uneducated and frankly offensive comment you have made. One can only assume you are a troll intent on provoking reaction, and for that reason I am not going to remark further. You are clearly a buffoon of the highest order. Good luck to you.

She lives in her own home, has a job and gives back to society so much in the fun and joy she brings to so many people. At night she can sleep with a good conscience of a day spent usefully unlike you who clearly have no heart or conscience.

Comment on Genetic expert Diana Bianchi misrepresents new eugenic test for Down syndrome by Renate Lindeman https://www.savingdownsyndrome.org/genetic-expert-diana-bianchi-misrepresents-new-eugenic-test-for-down-syndrome/#comment-1160 Wed, 04 May 2016 23:50:02 +0000 https://www.savingdownsyndrome.org/?p=3730#comment-1160 “If information about the unborn child causes the formerly wanted pregnancy to an unwanted one, is it justifiable to say, “sorry, no take-backs – you surrendered the right to your body when you decided you wanted this baby” ?” Do you think it is justifiable if, after 3 years it turns out that the child is autistic, a mom says: “I didn’t sign up for that, make it disappear”? When is the cut-off limit or is that the abortion limit that every country has and happens to be different all over the world. Which country would have it ‘right’ in that case? Is it 13 weeks, or 22, 40 or zero? Maybe it is after birth, like it happens in the Netherlands or Belgium where infanticide is legal? Shouldn’t the informed choice be made by parents before trying to become pregnant? Prenatal health-care should focus on informing prospective parents that there are no guarantees in life (neither before or after birth) instead of reinforcing the illusion that children are merely a reflection of what we believe to be perfect.

It is an act of criminal selfishness to create for yourself what amounts to little more than a pet, a pet that will outlast its progenitors and rely on society to provide increasingly difficult and expensive care. Every child has THE RIGHT to the best possible start, and we are morally and socially obligated to provide it. How shameful that anyone would embrace these painful, humiliating defects. We certainly should love and support those who exist, those who are already here, but to create more? Monstrous, truly.

Comment on New prenatal test is bringing eugenics back to Germany by Chris https://www.savingdownsyndrome.org/new-prenatal-test-is-bringing-eugenics-back-to-germany/#comment-1144 Tue, 15 Sep 2015 15:04:24 +0000 https://www.savingdownsyndrome.org/?p=3362#comment-1144 In general I do agree. But there is not only a dark side: The german comission of ethics (I hope this is the correct term), a group of very respectable politicians, is working on a model, how to make sure that prenatal screening, especially NIPT, is not used to antagonize abortion for the reason of genetic defects, or gender. I am not sure about their power, but they are heared. And there i a visible, and big number of physicians, medics, and medical scientists, who are not willing to support abortion for the above mentioned reasons. Especially not for (against) embryos with down syndrome.
